Campus Life
Beyond the books
College is more than classes and exams. It's also friendships, shared experiences and learning to live life on your terms.
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students are a friendly, down-to-earth, free-thinking bunch. They make their own paths — exploring, researching and innovating in and out of the classroom. The opportunities to challenge yourself here in ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ are thrilling, not only at school but also in life.
Student Activities
There's always something going on, and you'll find all sorts of co-conspirators eager for a little distraction – in the sun, rain or snow, seven days a week.
The Student Activities Office, which oversees Nanook Traditions, organizes events designed to entertain, educate and inspire the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ community.
Campus media
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ has a variety of media outlets to keep students and staff informed and entertained as well as offering opportunities for volunteering. Students produce the weekly Polaris newspaper and run KSUA, the campus radio station and winner of the MTV Woodie Award. Public broadcasting stations KUAC FM and TV, the first public stations in the state, are headquartered at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.
Nanook Traditions
Annual events like Starvation Gulch bonfires date back to 1923. Winter Carnival is a celebration of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñn Winter. While SpringFest is our way to celebrate not only the end of the long winter, but also the warmth and our accomplishments of the year. Plus, every Tuesday is Traditions Tuesday! Wear your traditions gear for a chance to win prizes!
