Student's Review Breaks into Barrelhouse
One of our talented English MA/MFA candidates, Zeke Shomler, has recently had a book review published in Barrelhouse, a well-regarded literary journal. Zeke’s review of American Analects by Gary Young is an outstanding accomplishment that reflects the high caliber of work being produced by students in our department. In addition to his success as a writer, Zeke has generously managed the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ English Department's Instagram account for the past two years, showcasing his dedication to the program and his peers. We’re proud to celebrate this achievement, which highlights the exceptional talent emerging from our graduate programs.
Zeke is an MA/MFA candidate in Literature and Creative Writing at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, focusing on poetry. His creative work can be found in Sierra Nevada Review, Cordite, Anodyne, and elsewhere, and his poem "Velvet" was recently awarded Folio's 2024 Poetry Prize.
