33rd Annual Dead Writers | October 26, 2024

Every October, the English Department hosts the Dead Writers event, where literary icons rise from the grave for one eerie night of performances, costumes, and prizes. This year, the 33rd Annual Dead Writers Event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at Goldie’s AK, with doors opening at 6pm and the show starting at 7pm.

Tickets are sold at the door. $20 for general admission, $10 for ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students with ID. 21+ only, no exceptions.

How to Participate

We invite you to step into the shoes of a famous deceased author and bring their words to life! Here’s how to get involved:

What to Expect at the Event

Even if you don’t want to perform, join us as an audience member for a night of literary thrills! There will be ghostly readings, ghoulish costumes, and plenty of prizes, including:

🎭 Best Dressed
💀 Most "Humerus" Ensemble
📖 Most Unique Reading

Performers receive FREE entry—just show up in full costume! Spectators are welcome to attend and enjoy the spooky fun.

Venue Info

Costume: Full costume required for all performers for free entry.

Performance Length: Each reading should be 5 minutes or less.

Whether you’re performing or watching, this event promises a night of haunting entertainment, celebrating the words and voices of authors long gone.
