Matting Demo

with Allison Juneau

October 24th, 2024

On October 24th, the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Art Department is excited to host a matting demonstration with artist and instructor Allison Juneau. With years of experience in art presentation, Juneau’s workshops have been highly regarded for their practical insights and hands-on approach.

In previous demonstrations, Juneau has guided participants through the process of calculating accurate mat margins, ensuring a balanced and professional look for framed artwork. Attendees have had the opportunity to work directly with a tabletop mat cutter, learning proper techniques for clean and precise cuts.

In addition to mat cutting, Juneau has shared her expertise in mounting artwork using both archival and non-archival methods. She explains the importance of choosing the right materials and techniques depending on the longevity and preservation needs of the artwork.

This event is open to all ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students with an ID as past of their Arctic Art Pass. Whether you're an art student, a professional artist, or a hobbyist looking to improve your matting skills, this demonstration will provide valuable tools and knowledge to elevate your presentation of artwork.

Don’t miss this chance to learn from Allison Juneau and enhance your framing skills!
