Dear ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ community,

Earlier today, Gov. Dunleavy urging ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñns to be extra diligent over the next three weeks in preventing the spread of COVID-19. As a result of escalating COVID-19 numbers across the state, the governor announced the following:
  • On Monday, Nov. 16, a new 30-day disaster declaration takes effect
  • All state employees are to work from home whenever feasible
  • Masks and physical distancing are now mandatory at state work sites for employees and visitors alike
Early on in the pandemic, the university took a cautious, but risk-based approach to COVID-19 and university operations. Measures ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ put in place included requiring face coverings, selective testing, 6-foot physical distancing, limitations on events and gatherings, single-occupancy dorm rooms, remote learning courses where feasible, work-from-home protocols, and designated housing in the event students housed on campus require isolation. Employees have been encouraged to work with their supervisors to determine if their work can be done remotely.

At this time we do not anticipate implementing additional or different measures to those already in place. We will look for opportunities to strengthen our current measures in response to the governor’s announcement. We are committed to keeping our COVID-19 mitigation strategies in place as long as necessary to ensure we can continue to provide our students with a world-class education and keep our operations running smoothly.

Thank you for helping keep ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and our communities safe.
