A short time ago, you received a directing how the universities across UA should implement the latest health mandates to come from the state. is a “shelter in place” mandate. prohibits in-state travel, with few exceptions.

I know there are many questions about how these restrictions will affect your work and studies. While some details continue to be worked out, beginning at 5 p.m. today, Ӱ employees and students must adhere to the new guidance from the state and UA systemwide implementation of the state’s new guidance.

These past few weeks have been challenging and I want to thank you — our students, faculty and staff — for your patience, understanding and hard work. I continue to work closely with university leadership across the system and Ӱ to adjust to the changing situation. The health and well-being of our community continues to be our number one priority. Please follow all mandates and guidelines, practice social distancing, and whether you are continuing in-person work or working from home, thank you. Importantly, if you are feeling sick, take sick leave and stay home, self-monitor, and call your health care provider for directions on what to do if you have COVID-19-like symptoms.
