 Rebecca Dunne studied horn performance at Northwestern University. Notable teachers include Gail Williams, Dale Clevenger, Norman Schweikert, Frank Lloyd, and Andrew Joy. After earning her B.M., she won a Fulbright grant for study in Germany. She studied at Folkwang Hochschule fuer Musik and subsequently played horn and Wagnertube with Stadttheater Giessen and Oper Bonn.

In Fairbanks, Rebecca performs with Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra, Opera Fairbanks, and other local ensembles, and she manages an active private studio.
