Air quality research tour and discussion, part 2

The Fairbanks Winter Air Study wants to discuss your questions about the cold, dark truth of pollution in our city. Join over 40 scientists from across the U.S. and Europe for the second part of a two-part virtual discussion series where air quality experts will describe their research, show the active field site and answer community questions.

Join online at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, for a virtual tour of the project's ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Community and Technical College field site. Researchers will explain how data from air quality instruments at the site helps scientists better understand chemical processing of pollution in cold and dark conditions. Community questions and discussion are encouraged after the tour.

Register to watch on Zoom or watch live from the . Participants on both platforms will be able to join the discussion.

On Feb. 3, researchers led a virtual tour of the Hamilton Acres neighborhood field site. Instruments at this location are collecting data that is improving our understanding of how outdoor air quality affects the air we breathe indoors. Watch the on the Geophysical Institute YouTube channel.
