Anne Duffy retrospective and endowment

Larry Duffy recently created the Anne Duffy Painting and Sculpture Endowed Scholarship at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in loving memory of his daughter, Annie Duffy. Annie was a 1996 ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ alumna and later taught painting and sculpture within the university art department.

Annie Duffy explored issues of identity, memory, sense of place, and culture through her artwork. Much of that work specifically referenced the bright, long evenings under the post-summer-solstice midnight sun or the long, deep-blue aurora-filled nights that are unique to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.

This endowment will provide a lasting legacy in memory of Annie and her work, while also supporting students majoring in painting or sculpture at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Endowments last in perpetuity. If you are interested in making a gift to the spendable portion of the fund (No. 66208), so that students can receive an immediate impact, you can .

For more information about the endowment contact Megan Bean at 907-322-2008.
