Apple MDM migration

Oct. 30, 2024

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Staff and Faculty,

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ will be migrating to a new Apple Mobile Device Management solution, Kandji, for university-owned Apple devices. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance device security, streamline management, and improve the overall user experience for Apple device users across the university.

What to Expect:

The migration will be conducted in a phased approach to ensure a smooth transition:

  • Pilot Migration: If you feel inclined to start your migration earlier, you may contact our Service Desk to be added to our Pilot group. Doing so will be of tremendous help to our team as any feedback we receive will help us improve the experience for others.

  • Voluntary Migration: Starting Nov. 11, you will have the opportunity to migrate your university-owned Apple devices to Kandji at your convenience. This voluntary migration can be initiated through the Software Center on your device, providing you with the flexibility to complete the process when it works best for you.

  • Forced Migration: On Nov. 21, all remaining university-owned Apple devices that have not yet been migrated will automatically be moved to Kandji. Please ensure your devices are prepared and your data is backed up for this update to avoid any disruption in service.

If you have any questions, concerns, or require assistance with the migration process, please don’t hesitate to contact the Nanook Technology Services Help Desk. For further information, please visit our website. Our team is here to support you throughout this transition.

If you have a Mac device, you should be receiving a daily countdown notification.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we make this important upgrade to our device management system.
