Bakker named development, alumni relations director
Theresa Bakker
Theresa Bakker has been named ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s director of development and alumni relations. In the position, she will oversee fundraising, donor relations and alumni relations at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Her appointment also formally merges the development team and the alumni team into a single department, a model that aims to facilitate a unified approach to the university’s engagement with its donors and alumni.
Bakker first joined ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s staff in 1996 as a producer at KUAC. Since then she served as the marketing and communications manager at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Museum of the North, the alumni relations director and the interim executive director of university advancement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Pacific Lutheran University.
