Call for submissions: Ice Box literary journal

Ice Box, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ's undergraduate literary journal, is now open for submissions. Students are welcome to submit fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, hybrid writing, and visual artwork. To be eligible, writers and artists must be enrolled in at least one class at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ during the 2022–23 academic year. The deadline to submit is December 9. All selected works will appear in Ice Box Volume #19, to be published in Summer 2023. The submission link is available at .

Ice Box has been ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ's campus literary journal for more than twenty years. It began as an informal publication edited by graduate students, then in 2001 transitioned into an annual print journal. Ice Box went on hiatus in the mid 2010s, but was revived as a print publication in 2019. The most recent issue, Volume #18, featured creative work from 27 ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students. The journal was shared with university stakeholders, local high schools, and statewide arts organizations.

For the past two years, works from Ice Box have been selected for plain china, the national anthology of undergraduate writing. Ice Box is also an institutional member of FUSE, the Forum for Undergraduate Student Editors. In the spring semester, students in ENGL 475: Practicum in Literary Publishing will serve as the journal's editors. Previous issues are available for sale through the English Department.
