Ed deCastro is the port captain at the Seward Marine Center.  He regularly puts his work before himself, often working weekends, holidays, and after-hours. He is dedicated to the mission of the R/V Sikuliaq and Seward Marine Center, which is evident in the quality and quantity of his work.

Ed is always willing to help with any problem or issue and regularly goes above and beyond in advocating for the Sikuliaq crew and Seward Marine Center staff. He is a creative and thoughtful problem-solver and meets every situation with kindness, professionalism, and strong leadership.

Do you know a staff member from one of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s rural campuses who deserves recognition? Maybe someone who always works hard for their students, their co-workers, their community or ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ as a whole? You can nominate any staff member from a rural campus .

If you have any questions, please contact ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Staff Council’s Rural Affairs Committee members Tara Borland or Courtney Pagh.
