Delta Farm Forum highlights Interior ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ agriculture

Old farm equipment sits in a field in the Delta Junction area. The 52nd Delta Farm Forum will include presentations on topics of interest to Interior ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ farmers.

The 52nd annual Delta Farm Forum will take place Saturday, March 2, in Delta Junction.

The forum is a community event combined with an update on local agricultural information.

Producers, researchers and representatives from businesses and agricultural agencies will give presentations. Topics include updates from the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Farmers Co-op, the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Division of Agriculture, and the Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District. Speakers also will cover finance options for agriculture, soil health, livestock nutrition, risk management, sandpiper migration, invasive weed management and local markets.

The forum begins at 9 a.m. in the Delta High School small gym, Secondary Complex, School Rd., Door E, and will run until 4 p.m.

A potluck lunch is scheduled at noon. The University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service and the Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District co-sponsor the forum.
