Dieringer retiring as ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ financial aid manager
Deanna Dieringer, director of the financial aid office, is retiring at the end of May after more than 33 years at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. A farewell reception will be held in her honor next month at the Wood Center.
Dieringer has served as the director of financial aid for the last 14 years, leading the office in disbursing over half a billion dollars in aid to assist students with their educational goals. Deanna began at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ as a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team in 1983. She graduated with her bachelor’s in business administration in 1987 and joined the staff at the admissions and records office in 1989.
Dieringer moved to the financial aid office in 1995, where her passion for working with numbers was utilized. She served as the registrar for a year in 2007, but missed the world of financial aid and accepted the role as the financial aid director in 2008. She can still be found cheering on the Nanooks on the basketball court and assisting all student athletes with their financial aid questions.
The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Financial Aid Office will host a reception to celebrate Dieringer’s service at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and her upcoming retirement. Stop by the Wood Center Carol Brown Ballroom on May 26, from 1-3 pm to wish her the best in her retirement adventures.
