Free K-12 Science Events Presented by the Geophysical Institute

The Geophysical Institute is excited to announce two new free, all ages, outreach events prior to the spring Science for ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ talk series. 

Snow Science Saturday is on Jan. 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, 101 Dunkel St. Our Winter World and GLOBE ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ join the Geophysical Institute to show how people, animals and plants rely on snow.  You can become a citizen scientist, dig snow pits, simulate an avalanche, learn about water molecules and more!

Second, explore Space Science on Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Nordale Education Center, 397 Hamilton Ave. Bring your family and friends for space exploration, hands-on aurora activities and stargazing inside a planetarium with the Geophysical Institute and Fairbanks BEST Homeschool.
