Learn to strength train before work with Nanook Recreation
Nanook Recreation is offering intro to strength training Tuesday and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., starting Feb. 28. This class is free with Nanook Recreation membership and designed for those who are new to strength training.
The six-week class is progressive in nature, and you will learn the basic concepts and safety considerations when resistance training. The class will go over selectorized equipment (resistance training machines), free weights (dumbbell and barbell exercises), and functional strength movements. Individual needs will be considered when teaching new exercises, and modifications can be made for a variety of skill levels.
