McClure to give staff day keynote presentation
Kevin R. McClure, associate professor of higher education and director of communications for the Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges, will give a keynote presentation at Staff Recognition and Development Day on Thursday, May 5.

McClure argues why working culture and conditions can no longer be an afterthought in higher education. Drawing on research and insights from his public writing, McClure explains the causes and consequences of burnout, demoralization, and disengagement in higher education. Ssing critical hope as a solutions framework, he shares principles and promising practices to build a more caring university.
McClure is an expert on college leadership, management, and finance, especially at broad-access institutions. Throughout the pandemic, he has written articles on morale, burnout, disengagement, staffing and leadership in higher education.
