Self-service upgrade to Windows 11 is available

A self-service upgrade option to Windows 11 became accessible for all UA computers
on July 8, according to Nanook Technology Support Services. The upgrade is of crucial
importance for ensuring the ongoing security and functionality of our network, as
Microsoft has announced the discontinuation of support for Windows 10 on Oct. 14,
2025.
Why upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11?

Key considerations: Before updating your computer, please back up any important data onto your Google Drive. See this for uploading files into Google Drive.
Steps to upgrade:
Check for the upgrade option: Starting July 8, 2024, you will receive a notification when the upgrade to Windows 11 is available via Windows Update for Business. You can also manually check for the upgrade by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and clicking Check for updates.
Initiate the upgrade: If you see the option to upgrade to Windows 11, please take a moment to perform the upgrade. Click Download and install and follow the on-screen instructions. Your system may restart several times during the process.
Device compatibility:
Compatible devices: Most modern devices will be compatible with Windows 11. Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11.
Incompatible devices: If your device does not show the option to upgrade, it may be incompatible with Windows 11. You may need to obtain a new computer that meets the Windows 11 system requirements.
