Soft closure, non-teaching day Nov. 24
Nov. 5, 2021
There will be no classes Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, the day before Thanksgiving.
Although Nov. 24 is not a paid holiday, units may treat it as a soft closure day with the approval of their vice chancellor or the provost. Employees who wish to take leave should work directly with their supervisor. Please keep in mind that departments cannot require that employees take leave.
In summer 2017, President Johnsen permitted each university to designate its own non-teaching day as part of the new common calendar. Based on input from Faculty Senate and ASÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ designated the day before Thanksgiving beginning fall 2018.
