ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Troth Yeddha’ (Round 2) Ph.D. Fellowship opportunities

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s R1 Ph.D. Fellowship Working Group is pleased to announce a second round of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Troth Yeddha’ Ph.D. Fellowships, with funding available to support a limited number of Ph.D. students over the upcoming year from fall 2024 to spring 2025 (total funding available pending state budget).

These fellowships are eligible to currently enrolled Ph.D. students and newly admitted Ph.D. students starting in fall 2024. Fellowship opportunities will include funding to support: research expenses (max $10K), funding for travel to work with advisors (especially for distance students, max $10K), funding for ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Ph.D.-pursuing faculty to buy-out part of their teaching loads, tuition + fees, research assistantships + health insurance, and travel to attend conferences (lowest priority).

These fellowships are being offered as part of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s effort to attain R1 status in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education by 2027. Applicants will need to clearly demonstrate how the funding will help them complete their doctoral degree as efficiently as possible, ideally by spring 2026. For more information regarding ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s efforts to achieve R1 research status, please see the .

Students and their advisor will both have to fill out an application for the fellowship. For consideration, both applications must be received by July 10, 11:59 p.m. Details about the fellowship can be found in the header of each application.

Please spread the word across campus so that we can provide the best support to our Ph.D. students!
