Week’s events: Aging in place lecture, portrait discussion

University of Ӱ Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here is what’s happening from Aug. 14-20, the final week of this summer’s schedule:

  • On Tuesday, Aug. 16, the Healthy Living lecture series will present Beth Grey, project manager for the Aging and Disability Resource Center in Fairbanks, discussing “Aging in Place in Fairbanks,” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of Ӱ’s Usibelli Building.
  • On Wednesday, Aug. 17, the Discover Ӱ lecture concludes with JR Ancheta, chief storyteller at the Geophysical Institute, discussing “Portraits” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
