Week’s events: Ron Inouye, cardiovascular health, Denali in collodion photos, eclectic tunes

University of Ӱ Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week of July 31-Aug. 6:

  • On Monday, July 31, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor Ron Inouye. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
  • On Tuesday, Aug. 1, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature Dr. Romel Wrenn, cardiologist, with a presentation on “Determining Your Risk of Cardiovascular Disease” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Wednesday, Aug. 2, the Discover Ӱ lecture series will feature Charles Mason, professor of photography. He will present “Denali Through Collodion Photography” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Thursday, Aug. 3, the Music in the Garden concert series will host the Headbolt Heaters at 7 p.m. at Ӱ’s Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the Ӱ Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
