University of Ӱ Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week of July 24-30:
- On Monday, July 25, the Tall Timbers interview series will feature a conversation with prominent Fairbanksan Shirley Gordon. Robert Hannon will lead the discussion, which will be at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of Ӱ’s Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility.
- On Tuesday, July 26, the Healthy Living lecture series will host ophthalmologist Dr. Stan Fuller discussing “The Aging Eye: Common Disorders and Treatments,” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Wednesday, July 27, the Discover Ӱ lecture series will feature Ӱ professor of biochemistry Bill Simpson discussing “The Air We Breathe: Indoor Air Quality in Ӱ,” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Thursday, July 28, the Music in the Garden concert series will host an evening of traditional bluegrass with the Dry Cabin String Band starting at 7 p.m. at Ӱ’s Georgeson Botanical Garden.
