People's Endowment
The People’s Endowment Committee at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is pleased to announce the availability of funds for Spring 2025.
Call for proposals will run from October 7 - November 15, 2024.
The People’s Endowment was established at the UA Foundation in 1986 with the intent to provide a source of funds for projects that will improve ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, but would likely remain unfunded due to institutional priorities. Grants are intended to be used for a special project or to fill a critical need at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Proposals will be accepted from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ faculty, staff, and students. All proposals will be submitted to the People’s Endowment committee for review and selection.
Projects funded through the People's Endowment Fund from Spring 2012- Spring 2017 include: Arctic Gardeners, Midnight Sun Writer’s Series, Permafrost Literary Journal, the Sikuliaq project, Ethics Bowl, Innocent Eye: The Africa Photographs of Adrina Knutson, The Art of Nunavut-Inuit Tapestries from Baker Lake and Beyond, The Origins of Peace Making Circles Video, Chancellor’s Student Food Committee, Modernizing the Collection and Sharing of South-central Weather Data,
The People’s Endowment does not fund honorariums, salaries, or consultation service fees to UA employees. Examples of projects not likely to receive funding include scholarships or research projects, for which there are other funding opportunities available.
