ACEP Facilities

Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility on the Fairbanks

ACEP Offices

The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Center for Energy and Power is located on the fourth floor of the Joseph E. Usibelli Engineering Learning and Innovation Building (JUB) on the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks Campus. ACEP also has a team and office based in Anchorage.

Energy Technology Facility

Energy Technology Facility

The Energy Technology Facility (ETF) houses state-of-the- art laboratories, equipment and infrastructure to support ACEP’s applied research, including the Power Systems Integration laboratory and the hydrokinetics high-bay. The ETF is located on the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ campus just west of the powerplant off Tanana Loop E.

Test Sites and Laboratories

ACEP’s facilities are designed to offer a unique testing environment to technology developers, utility managers and other decision makers. Envisioned as an intermediate step to full commercial deployment, these facilities were carefully designed for a range of testing needs, enabling assessment of product performance based on many real world conditions.

Power Systems Integration Laboratory
Power Systems Integration Laboratory

A state-of-the-art facility designed to emulate an isolated hybrid-diesel grid system on the same scale as a village power system. Allows for scenario simulation, testing weather data from community weather stations, and more.
