Geological Engineering

Ryan Anderson The Geological Engineering program provided me with a strong background of core engineering principles, with an emphasis in geologic applications, which are foundational to planning, designing, construction, and maintaining a transportation system. In addition the program challenged me in critical and creative thinking, and developing sound writing skills. Ryan Anderson (ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ 1997), Commissioner of the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Department of Transportation and Public Facilities

Expertise in Arctic, frozen ground, and ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ-related phenomena

Our faculty’s expertise in Arctic-related geological engineering problems is the strongest in the nation. Their research programs focus on these areas, and we regularly involve undergraduate and graduate students in this research.

Networking and scholarship opportunities

The student chapter of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG) is just one of our many student organizations that offers students the opportunity to present research, meet and network with professionals, find internships, and secure nationally-competitive scholarships.
