Children, Youth, and Families At-Risk (CYFAR) Sustainable Community Project Grantees represent a variety of communities across the United States and territories. Grantees are selected through a grant application process each year. The funds are used to improve the quality and quantity of comprehensive community-based programs for at-risk children, youth, and families supported by the Cooperative Extension System.

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ AgrAbility

The AKAgrAbility program is managed by the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service and is funded nationally through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The purpose of the program is to help bring awareness, education, technical on-site assessments and resources to help ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñns working in an agricultural industry such as farming, fishing, or timber who may have a barrier that limits their independence.

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Tribes Extension

The  goal of the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Tribes Extension Program is to promote food sovereign and secure Tribes in ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. We want to help Tribes reach their goals around food sovereignty and security. We help Tribal communities with a variety of endeavors to promote community food security, resiliency, and economic diversity, while upholding traditional knowledge and traditional ways of securing food. We offer hands-on and virtual workshops throughout ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in partnership with Tribes and Traditional Ecological Knowledge Holders.

NextGen Workforce Development

A five-year $18 million grant awarded to the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension will help prepare the next generation to take active roles in the country’s agricultural sector.
