Scholarships

There are many scholarship opportunities for history students at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.

The first step in the scholarship process is to visit the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Financial Aid website and begin the paperwork process. The deadline for this is February 15.

Scholarship opportunities within the department

There are various scholarships available to history students. Please contact the department for more information. 

 

Research Award

Purpose: The Croxton Family Fellowship endowment will provide support to graduate students at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks who demonstrate academic skills and leadership abilities and whose academic program or research emphasis is in one or more of the broad areas of 1) anthropology, 2) Northern studies, 3) biology, 4) wildlife management, 5) elementary or secondary education 6) the fine arts, or 6) museum education and/or museum collection-based research in archaeology, ethnology or history. The intent of this fund is to increase the body of knowledge about ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, and to train professionals who will contribute to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and its people.

Two @ $1,000 per academic year.

Purpose: To provide scholarships for University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks students, whose area of study has emphasis in any of the following subjects: Northern Studies/ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Studies, Women's Studies, Anthropology, or History.

Scholarship

Minimum $500 per academic year

Purpose: To assist undergraduate students at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks in studies pertaining to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Preference given to students with interest in Security/Fire or secretarial work.

Minimum $500 per academic year

Purpose: To provide funding on a rotating annual basis for undergraduate students in Geography and for graduate students in the Arctic and Northern Studies program at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks. Funds can be used for, but not limited to: supplies/materials and associated with research projects. Funds cannot be used to travel to conferences or similar academic meetings.

Purpose: To provide scholarships for history and Northern Studies students who belong to Phi Alpha Theta at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks.

Purpose: To provide scholarship support to students studying ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñn history at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks College of Liberal Arts Northern Studies or History Programs, with a preference for students whose research is conducted using the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Film Archives in the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Rasmuson Library.

Scholarship

Minimum $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for undergraduate students who have graduated from Lathrop High School and who are pursuing a degree in secondary education with a history endorsement at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks.
