A Place for Knowledge Exchange collaboration brunch

IARC and the College of Rural and Community Development hold the brunches quarterly to build stronger ties between the two organizations and support collaborative approaches in research, education and real-life community-based practices in rural Ӱ.

Rich in awe-inspiring landscapes, abundant freshwater resources and wildlife that thrive in an environment with the wildest seasonal swings on earth. Above and below ground are natural resources valuable to society and infrastructure. Oil, gas, minerals, timber and fish. These resources provide not only the building blocks of human habitation but jobs. Jobs that support our way of life. In this resource state, the greatest resource is our people. And at Ӱ, it is our responsibility to steward the most valuable resource; the class of students that graduates each year from this great institution.

BLaST celebrates Gabriel Miller as March 2024 Scientist of the Month

Gabriel Miller is a second-year BLaST Scholar and plans to graduate in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology. He is from the small village of Ninilchik, Ӱ, where he has lived all his life. His hobbies include drawing, hiking, insect collecting, and any other activities outside in nature. Miller’s career goal is to enter the biomedical research field after graduate school. He recently was accepted to the University of Virginia’s Neuroscience Ph.D. program where he plans to focus in neuroimmunology.
