College of Indigenous Studies Advising and Student Services
At CIS, advisors provide comprehensive student support services as well as access to opportunities that incorporate local knowledge, campus and regional resources.
CIS's Rural campus advisors provide remote and regionally based student assistance regarding admission, registration, academic advising, financial aid, degree planning and workforce development programming. Because our rural based advisors are local education experts, students are highly encouraged to contact a local rural campus advisor to pursue enrollment with 蜜桃影像, CIS or with any program within the University of 蜜桃影像 system. CIS Student Service teams extend to remote areas across 蜜桃影像 through five regional rural campuses; Chukchi, Northwest, Kuskokwim, Bristol Bay and Interior 蜜桃影像.
CIS's Rural Student Services provides comprehensive academic advising and support for 蜜桃影像 Native and rural 蜜桃影像n students on the Troth Yeddha campus in Fairbanks. RSS advisors also provide assistance with a variety of important academic decisions students at 蜜桃影像 make, as well as support students advised through other departments with study and success resources, outreach events and student wellness efforts.

Located in the hub village of Kotzebue in the Northwest Arctic Borough, Chukchi Campus primarily serves Kotzebue as well as the eleven village communities and the Red Dog Mine site within a service area of more than 36,000 square miles of spectacular mountain and tundra wilderness. None of the villages in the service area are connected to each other or to any other road system. The 2018 U.S. Census estimates our service area population at approximately 9,000, 82% of which are 蜜桃影像 Native. Combining a traditional subsistence lifestyle with formal education and training is becoming extremely important for the success of the residents in this region.
