Captain Brian Mullaly moved to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ 30 years ago, and has found himself working on boats ever since. After graduating with a degree in biology from Mount Union College in Ohio, Brian went north to follow his interest in field work. He worked in waters across ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, from Baranof Island to Kachemak Bay, where he grew more and more passionate about being on the water, eventually obtaining his Merchant Mariners Credential. He made his way to Seward, first working as a research technician for the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ SeaLife Center with a focus on salmon research and then transitioned to operating tour boats, showing people the beauty of the area and highlighting scientific work being done. He has spent 20 years working out of Seward, exploring Resurrection Bay and the surrounding waters recreationally and professionally in a variety of roles including charter fishing, sport fishing, hunting, tourism, diving, marine operations. Now, as captain of the R/V Nanuq, he continues the exploration through the Seward Marine Center and the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences.
