Insurance
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ does not require students to carry health insurance; however, it is strongly recommended. The student health insurance program for international and graduate students on a stipend is administered through the center in conjunction with the Graduate School and the Office of International Student and Scholar Services. An insurance coordinator is available to answer questions about policy coverage and to help with information about how to file claims.
Graduate student insurance
Graduate student insurance is provided as a benefit to graduate students who are on a stipend as a teaching or research assistant. It is provided by UnitedHealthcare Student Resources. Please visit its to establish an account, print ID cards and check claims.
The graduate student insurance at the Student Health and Counseling Center covers 100 percent of the center's charges. There is no deductible or copayment required. If you have to use your graduate insurance at community facilities, you are responsible for deductibles and copays. Please read your policy very carefully.
The Student Health and Counseling Center fee is optional for graduate students taking fewer than six credits of face-to-face courses as long as a student is taking six credits total, including online courses. If you would like access to services provided at the center, please contact the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Bursar's Office to have the fee added to your account.
International student insurance
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ contracts with a health insurance company to provide insurance for international students who require certain coverage based upon their visa status and who do not otherwise have their own coverage.International student insurance is provided by LewerMark Student Insurance.
