Nominations open for student commencement speaker

ASÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ invites students, faculty and staff to nominate graduating students to be the student speaker at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ's spring Commencement ceremony on May 4. The deadline for nominations is Feb. 16, and the application period opens Feb 1.

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Dining Services and Chartwells are excited to announce the opening of a new dining location on the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Troth Yeddha' Campus. CRAVE is a virtual food hall located in the Arctic Health Research Building, Room 187. It will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Call for abstracts and early registration open for Wakefield Fisheries Symposium

We want to hear from fishery researchers, managers, and other professionals at the 2024 Wakefield Fisheries Symposium. All are invited to submit abstracts by Feb. 13 for oral or poster presentations. Registration is also open for the symposium. An early-bird registration fee of $450 is available through Monday, March 18.

Friday Focus: Supporting each other

Last year, I wrote the Friday Focus around this time and mentioned that I don't set resolutions but goals. Over time, I've found that resolutions just didn't work for me, but goal setting did. When creating a goal, I develop small milestones to reach that goal or goals. I work best when I can break something down and eliminate the potential of it overwhelming me.

Applications open for URSA's Summer 2024 Student Project Awards

URSA's Summer Student Project Award offers up to $6,000 for both individual and group applicants to use toward an undergraduate research or creative activity project in the summer 2024 term. Funds may be used towards fellowships (student stipends), tuition, travel, or supplies/services. Students from all University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks campuses and all disciplines are encouraged to apply!
