ANLC Film

The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Native Language Center, housed at the University of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Fairbanks Troth Yeddha’ Campus , was established by state legislation in 1972 as a center for research and documentation of the twenty Indigenous languages of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. It is internationally recognized as the major center in the United States for the study of Iñupiaq, Yup’ik and Northern Dene languages.

In celebration of fifty years of working toward its mission to cultivate and promote ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s twenty Native languages, the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Native Language Center captured the past, present, and future of language revitalization in this short film produced by Channel Films in Fall 2022. ANLC invites all interested to join the movement to promote ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Native languages and contribute to the future of these languages and the heritage of all ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñns.
